We have been thinking about trading my wife's 2020 Lexus ES300 Platinum Edition for a new PHEV or EV. Went to our local Toyota dealer to look at the latest Prius Prime PHEV. Wasn't impressed. The main reason was it does not feel comfortable to get into the car. It comes with a sun roof, which apparently lowers the roof line an inch or two. When I get in, I have to really lower my head and neck, brushing my head against it. I think we will either look at a low mileage used PP or wait until next year when some newer models are available.

Yep... Lexus quality and comfort makes a Toyota Prius, even a new one, seem cheap and crappy... And who's gonna pay close to $50K for cheap and crappy? Suggest you find a used Lexus Hybrid and replace its hybrid battery with a brand new Sodium-Ion. It's a way more affordable way to have the newest best nicest in hybrid vehicles.

Exactly! Our local Toyota salesman who sold us our 2016 nine years ago cold called out of the blue last week to check if we were still driving the car--now that's a heck of a customer relationship manager (CRM) they've got! He was not too surprised when we said we were still enjoying the car and had 90K trouble free miles on her. But he made his pitch for the 2024 Prime anyway saying there's a great cash back incentive of $7,500 (here in Colorado) if you lease the new Prime for $375 down/$375 month for 36 months! That sounded pretty sweet, so we went down to see the new car. It looks great, but is much smaller (narrower, lower roof line, smaller cargo/hatchback) as everyone knows. We quickly decided we could not "fit" in the new Prime, so he moved us on to the RAV4 Prime (which came with $9,500 cash back!). It was much more comfortable, but wife decided she still likes her 2016, so we walked away.
