I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get the hood wire inside the cab so I can hook use as the trigger to my tilt alarm. I thought it was going to be easy. I have attached a picture of the ECU location which I thought contained connector 2C and in particular pin 38 (As shown in the HoodWire Document I attached) according to the schematic I have. I could not locate it. Maybe it's HCTY pin 20 per the schematic? If the above fails me, I know where the signal is near the hood latch. I put a jumper (to ground) on it per installing the OEM alarm. Thus I could attach a wire to this signal. However, I don't know how to get a wire thru the firewall and into the cab/inside of car. Preferably on the drivers side. Does anyone know how to do this?
There are a few discussions abourt installing an aftermarket fog light kit in a Gen 3. To do this, they need to run a wire through the firewall. I would think you could do the same thing. 2010 Prius OEM-quality Fog Light Kit Now Available! | PriusChat Basically, there's a boot where the wiring harness goes through the firewall. People have been poking a small hole through the boot and running the wire through there.
There are two transitions from the engine compartment into the car body. This is indicated by blue dashed lines on the diagram. In order not to drill the car body, I would use these transitions. But in any case, you will have to disassemble a lot of things on the dashboard. Gen3 Wire1 by MAX2 posted Apr 3, 2025 at 9:30 AM Gen3 Wire2 by MAX2 posted Apr 3, 2025 at 9:30 AM
