Bought a OEM battery... but need help!!

    I just bought a new oem battery from a dealer, after my battery went bad... I was thinking of replacing the cells myself with used, refurbished ones, but after researching, I was convinced to buy a new one.... I removed the old battery myself, but I just noticed that the new battery does not come with the computer electronic part on the side of the battery... do I just take the one from the old battery and put it on the new battery? Is it easy, and can I do it myself?

    Yes. You will have to do it yourself. There are no difficulties in rearranging. You just need to carefully and consistently rearrange everything. It is better to photograph each part and the order of its fastening. Also, follow the rules of electrical safety. The large orange connector in the desk drawer and do not touch it until you assemble the battery.

    Then don't forget to put it back in correctly (easy to mess up the switch position) before trying to start the car.

    I got a quote last week. Olathe Toyota. $3,100 for the battery $1,300 core deposit and $125 for one hour of labor for a Master Mechanic to box up the core for shipping.
    I um passed.............

    Not likely, I had to pick it up at the dealer.. and it comes in a big box lol

    @saneesh8, you might find things are different if you actually complete the order. Many have had a similar experience to you, but then when \they pull the trigger, there are no batteries at the advertised price, and even sometimes, there is no battery available at all from the said dealer.
    A second thing you will find is that they will not ship an HV battery. It is strictly a pickup-only proposition.

    Longo Toyota's part site is showing that part as unavailable at this time. Biggest Toyota dealership in the country. Pack availability is really spotty. It's like Toyota sends a ship full of them from time to time, so supply fluctuates dramatically over time.
