What's a reasonable price right now (considering tariffs) to replace the upper (larger) back window on a 2012 Prius?

I've had friends who have added windshield replacement coverage to their insurance policy for $50 and then got it fixed and then canceled that part of their policy.

Also go around to auto glass places and get some prices. It might not be as expensive as you think.

If it were me, I'd wait for Pick n' Pull / auto wrecker's regular sale they have on doors for $50 and buy the whole rear hatchback and replace it entirely because It's just some wires and two big bolts and the struts.

I recently had a windshield replacement and paid about $300 out of pocket.

It's best to call around to the different shops and get a price first hand.
Maybe a few windshield replacement companies, like safelite?

    What’s your insurance situation?

if insurance is not happening, I’d pile on: get some quotes.

you can call auto glass shops in los angeles and they can give you a quote. search auto glass shops on mission street (that's in the downtown area where all the glass wholesalers are located. Call all of them and get different quotes

Either buy an entire rear hatch from a local wrecker like Pick n' pull and swap it out (two bolts and a wire assembly) or call around to non-chain store auto glass installers and get their best price. Alternatively, some people have upgraded their insurance for auto glass protection for cheap and then filed a claim and got it fixed.
