What do these indicators mean? What's the next step?

The Hybrid Control ECU has set diagnostic trouble codes.
Read the codes from all ECUs to find out what your car is not happy about.

Share the codes here, and we can provide further information and advice.

dolj, Here are the DTC's: P1116 01/04; P1121 02/04; P2195 03/0; and N/A 04/04. In addition, there is a "03" over a "01". The first two codes showed up over a year ago and apparently indicates that I need to replace the Coolant Control Valve. I haven't had it replaced, mainly because auto repair estimates are about $800 AND I haven't noticed any deficits in the running of the vehicle on this account. The mileage remains 46-48 mpg, nothing appears abnormal, heating and A/C do not seem to be affected. The rest of the codes listed are new and have shown up when the Red Triangle lit and Hybrid System icon did.

I don't think the coolant control of the house is your serious issue here it won't keep you from driving the car the car from charging none of that so that's that usually it messes with your heat if it's not messing with your heat lovely I wouldn't touch it $800 I'm not sure about that I think the valve might be a buck and a quarter or 125 or somewhere in there and it's about home depends on what's going on but 50 minute job I'd love to get $800 to do those and you're located where exactly?.

Those three codes are engine (ECM) codes, and as has been mentioned, they shouldn't affect drivability. The third code, P2195, I wonder about. That should be giving some drivability/fuel economy issues. I'm not sure what all the 01/04, 02/04, 03/0, 04/04, and "03" over a "01" is all about – 1st code of 4, 2nd code of four, etc, maybe? Then you have N/A 03/0? That makes no sense.

Absent are any HV Control ECU codes, which tells me the code reader was not adequate.

One thing about ignoring codes is you never know when a new one, like your P2195, will pop up.

You should look into fixing the 3-way coolant control valve (P1121), either do it yourself, or solicit the help of a handy friend or family member. It is not a good idea to let faults accumulate. Buy the part from an online Toyota dealer that offers a good discount. Camelback Toyota in Arizona or Olathe Toyota in KS. Another competitive site is toyotapartsdeal.com.

P1116 indicates the car is not happy about the temperature reading it is getting from the CHRS tank outlet temperature sensor. The sensor is not necessarily broken. Check the wiring from the ECM to the sensor for damage; check that the connector is seated correctly, and also check for damage to the connector and socket.

Get your car rescanned using a good scan tool and let us know what the HV control code or codes is/are.

You need a diagnostic scanner that can read hybrid system error codes. Generic scanners are often not designed for this and may give out non-existent information or read it incorrectly.
    Read this topic carefully.
