You're one of those people that can never be pleased?
At what point do we get off China's tit?
So far, no one has had the balls to make the call, for better or worse, but we all know the longer we wait, the harder it's going to be. Just like trying to get government spending under control. You want to keep kicking the can down the road? Because that's the easy thing to do? Yeah, the guys a bit of a nut, probably even a lot of a nut, but in the big scheme of things, he also has the nuts to at least try, while everyone else just bickers, blames each other and delays over and over again to hopefully let someone else deal with various problems.

What about a thank you to all the limp wrists and profit monsters that actually caused this entire situation to develop over the last few decades? Oh wait, that means we would need to blame ourselves also, since we keep insisting on cheaper and cheaper goods and services and we get lazier and lazier. Now China owns us and the pain to get loose is something many people talk a good game about enduring, but most actually are a bunch of whiny little bit**es when it actually comes down to doing the deed, right?

Grow tf up and quit blaming everyone else for the problems we were ALL involved in creating. Maybe even thank some people for actually trying to solve some problems instead of being like the wishywashy politicians of yesterday. Right or wrong, at least something is being done. A military thing.....any action, right or wrong, is better than NO action. Corrections can almost always be made later. Yesteryears are full of inaction. Hell, I'll tell you right now, my hobby account at Schwab lost 150k in a couple weeks when all the crap hit the fan, not to mention my retirement accounts (but they fared better, being professionally managed). Yeah, it sucked, but I deal with it and accept it because I knew what was going to happen, but just didn't feel like getting out of the market at the time. If all the craziness eventually gets us back on the right track, then it's still 100x better than what would have happened with a bunch of do nuthins..

Don't need to be pleased. Just the facts, mam.

I have absolutely no wants or needs at the expense of the poor as the Big Beautiful Bill will do.

Unfortunately, like what happened with the arrogant metropole powers of the European empires before WWI, what the current administration is doing will speed up the transfer the world economic power to China as Europe did to the States after WWII.

I'm glad that I will be gone in not much more than another decade.

    You're Welcome!

Maybe next time you will hold a primary instead of trying to give us "Weekend At Bernie's 2.0......" followed by a word salad-shooter.

    @ Rare Earth Elements......
Three lies for the price of one.
This is Saudi Oil 2.0 and you know what they have in common??????

    That's right.
You can't EAT oil or so-called super magnets.

    @ Big Beautiful Bill:
    Elon is right.

ANOTHER three lies for the price of one.

    Personally?
    I hope it fails.
That way ONE party will be 100-percent responsible for the largest tax increase on the middle class since Bill Clinton and 1993.
AND......SALT deductions (tax break for the rich) will go back to there they were in the 2000s.

A NET POSITIVE for debt reduction when you consider that zero Donkeys will have voted for the debt extension included in the B3.

When you don't know what you are doing, you can make things worse.

The laws passed under Biden to support chip production and EVs had the goal of moving such industries out of China. If not to the US, then to places friendlier to us, at least they were.

If Biden - (or, more accurately, his handlers) "knew what they was doing" then he would have been on the ballot last fall......

Besides, the industries that are affected by the CHIP ACT actually USE so-called rare earth elements, don't they?
I suppose kowtowing to the ChiComms IS a strategery.
The current administrations does so with their 'influence peddlers.'
If we're going to develop a domestic CHIP industry - or at least encourage somebody like the Indians then perhaps we ought to expliot rare earth elements from a non near-peer adversary.

Put another way.....since this is actually a "Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News" subforum and thus people here are supposed to care about the "earth"....

WHO WOULD YOU RATHER EXPLOIT the so-called Rare earth Elements?

The Federation or the Ferengi? ;)

Legally, the slaves might have been freeded, slavery is now voluntary.

Financial debt is the new slavery.

People arr now using Klarna to buy groceries or Instakart to "Eat now and pay later."

There are probably ways to "get off China's tit" that don't involve cutting off our own faces in the process.

Too bad nobody in our government can be bothered to do the actual work involved.

Oh brother - so now life owes us what - an easy ride? or a totally free ride. Remind everyone - which millennium it was where lots of humanity had this free ride. Anxious to jump into the way back time machine to check that out.

    Nope.
    Just a fair shot.
In the year of our LORD 2025 it's certain that most people in the US have, at LEST that.....
    INCLUDING the last gov'mint......
Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoes bill stopping China from owning Arizona land | 12news.com

    Me?
I respect Katie's objections but those objections fall well short of respecting her intelligence.....
