Working on a friends 2012 Prius V. He said the 12V battery was dead, and they installed a new one. Now it will not start. I used Toyota GTS+ and found codes C1259 and C1310. The codes will not clear. Have VSC, Brake, ABS, and another light and a red steering wheel light with an exclamation point by it. Read a post where they said the brake accumulator was bad. Swapped the brake accumulator from another Prius V with the same part number. Went thru the brake bleeding procedure, and the Linear Solenoid Valve Offset learn procedure. Still same codes, and no Ready light. Also did the steering angle relearn. I cleaned the hybrid battery bus, and tested each cell, which are good. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure the orange service disconnect on the hybrid battery is folded shut and the clicked in?

Did you run a full Health Check using Techstream?

The two codes you reported usually mean that there is at least one code reported by the hybrid control system. You have not included that code in your post.

In fact they not only 'usually', but specifically mean that.

After doing another Health Check, the Hybrid Control has code P3004. Any solutions?

To narrow down the problem for the P3004 code, you need the three digit INF code. You do that by double clicking on the snowflake to look at the freeze frame data (FFD). In the freeze frame data, there should be four rows labeled Detail Code 1, Detail Code 2, etc. The INF code will be shown in one of those rows.

^^ I was just signing in to say that. There seem to be about six different INF codes that can go with P3004.

Regrettably, that's as much as I can tell you from the PDF copy of the gen 3 repair manual that floats around, because it hasn't got the actual troubleshooting section for P3004. Whoever made that PDF missed some sections.

If it were my car, I would go sign in for the full repair manual on TIS and look up that section. It may have very useful troubleshooting ideas.
