I got a new Hybrid Battery installed by Greentec and when I picked it up they told me about 2 codes it was reading that they said i needed to fix still. C1466 - Right Rear Speed Sensor P0121 - Throttle Pedal Position Sensor I drove home about 20 miles and no lights or messages came on but they did say that if I didn't fix the C1466 then it would affect the cars ability to charge the hybrid battery. Should i go ahead and replace the right rear hub assembly that has the speed sensor in it? Or pay for a diagnostic now that the battery has been replaced? I was at least planning to wait on the throttle position sensor because I have a 12 hour job waiting for next weekend already (A/C evaporator) to get the car "fixed." Plus a tire swap and an oil change PS I also noticed the passenger front and passenger rear windows don't work from the drivers controls but they do work from each respective door. If anyone knows how to fix that also that would be awesome. Thanks in advance
Get a code reader that will read ALL the Prius codes, and check it out yourself. Did you have those codes before the battery was replaced?
If you do not presently have any warning lights or messages on the dashboard, you do not have any current trouble codes.
Yes and it could have been caused by the original battery that was hooked up or when I gave up trying to fix it and tried seeing if the car would start without the kill switch in. Since they replaced the battery i have not seen any codes and the car has driven about 50 miles over 2 days. The gas mileage is better than before I replaced the battery but not as good as I when I first got the car (at 1 year old) so I expected a little bit better with the new battery. I think I will run the Dr. Prius life expectancy test tomorrow and see how the new battery tests. I paid for the new cells which was like $2650 including tax and install. Getting about 37-38mpg in the city
The technician that replaced the battery told me the right rear speed sensor needed to be replaced or else it would wear down the new hybrid battery. But also he said they don't diagnose or fix that problem so he may or may not know what he is talking about. That's why I came here.
A new "used" battery..... It won't behave like a real NEW battery. Did you confirm the speed sensor is bad? Since you don't have codes.... I would say not. And you wouldn't get regenerative charging... Which will reduce your mpg
