Ok so, I have been doing some reading here and just wanted to make sure I am on the correct tract. Wife driving on a hot as heck day (100+) up a mtn pass, just over pass, it lit up, multiple idiot lights including triangle and Hybrid malfunction notice on screen. Pulled codes on simple reader and it Pulled P0A94, came back immediately when cleared. Techstream found these other codes. I understand C1259 and C1310 are likely from the suspected inverter failure. B126A is a code for remote starter - I installed an aftermarket about a year about and it still works fine (supect this code would have come up after that installation ?) never checked with Techstream until now. The B2784 Smart Key, I was able to clear and I think has nothing to do with the current issue.

The Car will start and Idle and will kick in to charge the HV battery when the voltage gets in the 14 range and charge up to 17V range. Battery banks seem ok (less that 0.5V diff H/L bank), car will drive but depletes battery quickly and then super limpy. Regenerative braking seems to work, brakes feel normal and One of the on screen indicators show its charging when hitting the brakes. The main screen with the icons of the Battery, Generator do not show any activity with none of the moving arrows showing where the energy flow is going while driving or idling. The HV battery will charge and discharge when idling but the Gas engine does not shut off.
The 12V battery seems fine, it sits at 14.1 - 14.2 when idling.
With all this in mind - I just wanted to get some opinions... I am down to thinking its the inverter from everything I've read - Just the fact that it runs and charges throws me a bit. Fuses are good.
Car is rebuilt title so from what I understand the Toyota Warranty won't work.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Luckily used inverters are cheap. But I don't want to just throw parts at it if someone may think its something else

Thanks! in advance for any help!

I know it's been a year since you posted, but did you find any fix or answers? My wife's 2013 V did exactly as yours with all the same codes (but one)

    Thanks!

I am surprised that the OP did not get any responses to his post last year.

The Gen 3 inverter assembly has a 20-year extended warranty from Toyota. It even applies if the car has a salvage title. Take a look at the link where it is explained better than I could, https://priuschat.com/index.php?posts/3424917
For the P0A94 code, Customer Confidence Program 23TE03 applies. If you have the P0A94 code, do not try to clear the code. Take or have the car towed to the nearest Toyota dealership. The dealership needs to read the P0A94 code to qualify for warranty coverage. Towing of the car to the dealership is also covered.

Contact your Toyota dealership for an appointment to get your car fixed for free.

    THANK YOU!!

Car is at the dealership right now. This is fantastic news! I hope its not a fight with the dealership!

    EDIT TO ADD:
Service called back and said because the car is salvage title, they wouldn't honor the warranty. I countered that it is unlimited miles, salvage, unknown miles or total loss are all covered. He will escalate this to the next higher person and then call corporate. However it is holiday weekend so he said I wouldn't hear back until Monday sometime.

Since you replaced it, and it is a salvaged car, they likely won't warranty it.
    But you may be lucky...

I didn't replace anything. I do hope I am lucky though.

    Thanks,

Apparently, I misread, something about a remote starter???
Then the salvage title is the issue. The car was "totaled" by the insurance company.
So Toyota sees is as a dead car. I still hope you get lucky though.

Just click on the link in post #3 and read the post written by ChapmanF. Everything is explained in that post. Just download the PDF linked to 23TE03 and take it to the dealership if they say it is not covered because it is a salvage title.
