I'll try to be brief, but there's a lot to say (& ask).

I installed a new set of Denso Iridiums. While I was at it, I installed the new injectors I had on the shelf.
Car mis-fired and made that awful banging and shuddering.
Techstream reported "random misfiring plus misfire on cylinders 1 & 3". Bad enough but also #4 leaked badly past the top O-ring.
Cannibalizing the previous dead Prius, I started checking coil packs. Car started and stumbled until it shut-down with the death triangle present. Though spark was present, 4s new plug was sooty black.
I checked continuity on all 8 coil packs on hand. Most were around 30, some were more like 14. Those didn't work.
Along the way, my daughter FINALLY managed to get #4 injector to stop leaking. No joy.
I've cleaned the #4 plug, replaced it with one that I took out in the first place.
ONCE, the car smoothed out for a couple of minutes before once again stumbling and shutting down.
Now, I have a light on the dash which I didn't know existed. Low traction battery.
With all of the times the car started, only a couple of times did the charging arrows show up but always one purple bar.
Again, all I did was replaced plugs and injectors.
I have three Prii and I NEED this one to work as I have to have it for work.
This is the only one street legal and I go back to work next week. Please advise...

Injectors from who ? Nippendenso ? Or green new things off e bay? After they've run a few minutes pull the injectors back out and look at the pintle end . Do you see black streaks like exhaust marks on the ends of injectors . Indicating rich ? I've had three sets do this . I put originals back in and everything is back to normal and cleaned up I clean balanced units in and rich stumbling imed. Factories w 300K back in running perfectly or close. So I've not got any of those injectors online that are like 45 to 220 bux a set w papers . So if you have real spark plugs in the car not fakes and you put your real injectors back in does the car go to running correctly or close to it?

You did not say if the car was running well before you replaced the spark plugs and fuel injectors, but I am assuming it was. Why did you replace the coils with different ones? Put the coils back into the car that were in it when the car was running well.

Where did you buy the Denso spark plugs from? If you bought them from Amazon or eBay, I would take them out and replace them with spark plugs purchased from the dealership or a brick and mortar auto parts store.

If the problem is not resolved, put the fuel injectors back in that were originally in the car. I am guessing that the fuel injectors are the problem.

Where did you buy the new fuel injectors that were sitting on a self?

FYI, your car is trying to start, but it is not starting. Every time you try starting the car, the state of charge of the hybrid battery will be reduced. If the charge of the hybrid battery gets too low, you will not be able to start the car without using a grid charger to charger the battery back up.

What is the level of the hybrid battery on the screen?

What is the year of your Prius? How many miles on it and how long have you owned it?

Thanks for the reply! Excellent info as always.
I bought the car from a used car dealer and, indeed it had green injectors.
It did, however run fine. I got my replacement injectors (also green) online
    Amazon or Ebay for sure.

Trying to be methodical, I numbered all 8 but they were mixed by then.
I'll pull plug and injectors this afternoon/early evening. All I can do is trial
and (no doubt) error until we find the magic combo.
I have one more prius, but that one runs. I need to get it through inspection
and re-registration. I'm not stripping anything off that one.

The other one is now a parts car. That was the one I asked about some time ago and I've given up on it.

    Thanks again.

The car was running well, I was only going to change the plugs initially.
I bought the plugs from an auto parts store.

I numbered the coils and injectors after the car failed to run well. So, I have no way
of knowing which were the originals.
I didn't know others have had problems with them until now.

Thanks for the battery info. I suspected it might contribute to the mess.
I don't have a grid charger but I have charged these things a few time, one pack at a time. I took the battery out of that (parts) car to replace that Lithium headache
in the now last working prius. As for the cars, I have an '06 (parts car), and 2 '08s.
The problem child is one of those, 150k or so. Oh, one purple bar on the display.

I think I answered your questions. Thanks for helping out!

Now, you have a big mess to find the right combination of injectors and coils. Good luck.

Use the green not bright green e bay units note the e bay injectors have rectangular slots in the end instead of tiny holes round look at them usecthe originals marked Asian. They won't generally run rich . Too much fuel is almost like water intrusion from HG leak . Stumbling etc

Replacing injectors is not a maintenance item... I think we can all agree the source of the problem wan in replacing them... People typically have some hassles when they do injector stuff on here. Surely with close examination you can put the old ones back in? And how about the spark plugs, what kind did you use? The specific ones Prius require?

If you have Prius parts car then pull the injectors from one of them... Also #5 didn't mention what type of plugs you're using... Hopefully they aren't too long or something that could cause engine damage.

They're the same color, but upon closer inspection, not the same.
One set has a brand name and the other doesn't. More importantly, one set has
a sort of conical plastic "hat" above the top O-ring. Haste, panic, and sketchy close-up eyesight.
Also, one set is numbered 1 through 4. I don't know why or if it matters.
