Yep and since our UV rays here at altitude (Colorado) are off-the-charts, I spray all of our headlamps with a coating of Mequiars' Headlight Coating. Supposed to give one-year protection from UV rays. (Seems to be working on our newer cars but my 2014 Tundra was, probably, too far gone...just had to buy new headlamps since they were too yellow and faded...had already restored them once.)

 

I picked up some CarPro DLight this spring, but I've been too lazy to properly prep my headlights to apply it. On the plus side, My car is parked with the headlights out of direct sunlight about 98% of the time, so the delay shouldn't be a big deal.

DLight is supposed to be developed to specifically bond to plastics and protect them from UV for up to 3 years. I think it only came out early this year or the very end of last year. It was mostly developed to protect PPF coatings and keep them from yellowing, but it also works on headlights and other plastics. Stupid expensive at $35 for 10mL, but it's not like you need much. If you're only doing headlights, 10mL would probably do all the cars a family owns. For a full car PPF coating, you'd probably need the 30mL bottle for $90.

 

Lexus had the turning headlights years ago. My Subaru has them; car does a cross-eyed calibration when turned on.

Those are legal CYA terms for people in the second paragraph. Note that Toyota is saying it is capable of auto braking after them, which is far more than your claim in post #2. Better sensors and computers means TSS 3 will do this better than TSS 2.

If you shop around dealerships, you can get up to 31% off MSRP as a base discount. Then there are regular sales that range from an additional 15% off to 25% off for Black Friday. I'm still trying to create a master list, but it appears New Years, 4th of July, and maybe Labor Day are all 20% off. Presidents Day and Memorial Day are both 15% off. If Labor Day isn't 20% off, it will be 15%. Each of these sales typically lasts for a week.

So if you're buying a $100 part during a 20% off sale, it's like this:
$100 MSRP
$100.00 x 0.69 = $69.00 after standard 31% discount
$69.00 x 0.80 = $55.20 final price after additional 20% off sale

The sales are system-wide for every dealership that sells through this site. I think there are at least several hundred dealerships that do. To find a dealership that offers the max standard discount of 31% off, use the "Find a dealer" function and open up a bunch of dealer pages in different tabs. Then enter your part number into each of them and compare the prices/discounts. Keep widening your search until you find a dealership that is 31% off. Then add all the parts to your cart and double check they are all 31% off. If they aren't, go back and keep widening your search until you find a dealer that does 31% off on everything.

The site also offers free shipping if the order is $75 or more after the base discount. You still get free shipping if the extra 15-25% off drops the order under $75. And it seems like the system only adds sales tax if the dealership and shipping address are in the same state. But I can't guarantee that works for every dealership, it just has from the dealerships I've ordered from.

I looked around locally using Autopates.toyota.com and did not find any discounted prices at a few local toy dealers on the Ca West Coast. Cn you give me the name of a dealership that you have found that has these 31% base discounts on parts ?

 

I'm seeing 31% or more at your local dealership(assuming the location in your profile is correct).

Sant Margarita Toyota is near Rancho Santa Margarita, In so CA LA area hunreds of miles from where I live. I live in Santa Margarita, near san luis obispo CA. Toyota of San Luis Obispo, and Toyota of Santa Maria, and Santa Barbara toyota did not show any discount.

And when do the holiday discounts appear. On the holiday ? Have to wait until that day to see the discounts ?
Your idea of posting holiday and typical discounts is a good one. Hope you can have time for that in the future.

 

The sales are generally eight days long, starting on a Monday at midnight(12:01am) and ending on the following Monday night at midnight(11:59pm). The Labor Day sale just started today. Only 15%, but it's better than nothing. The next big one will be around Thanksgiving/Black Friday and it's been 25% off the last couple years. I think it still starts the Monday after Thanksgiving like all the other sales, but it could start on Thursday or Black Friday.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any discounts within a 100 miles of SLO. At that point you're just better off ordering from wherever and take advantage of the free shipping. Again, you might be able to avoid sales tax by ordering from a NV or AZ dealership. Not certain of that, but you can try and you're already going to having it shipped. I do it, but that's more because there are no 31% off dealerships in my state, so I'd order from out of state regardless.
