The dealer initially tested the original battery and said it was A-OK. They had nothing to say about the rapid battery drain, but I took it to a second dealer, where they spent the day doing a complete investigation, testing everything, and they decided to replace the battery. The problem persisted, and a few weeks later, I parked the car to go on a hike. About 2 hours later, I returned, and the voltage was too low to start the car. I had a jump pack, and I used it, but that doesn't fix the problem.

I had this problem long before I decided to use the 12V cooler in my car for the summer. I installed the auxiliary battery to prevent me from accidentally leaving it on while I parked. This setup has caused no problems whatsoever for my battery drain problem.

I still have this problem, occasionally when I forget to plug in my battery maintainer. Other times, the car can sit for days, and still start fine, without the maintainer. This is why I call the drain "highly variable" and unpredictable. I have assumed that it's caused by the wireless updates. I still have no idea, but I try to remember to plug in the maintainer when I'm home.

Will this stop some of you from telling me to get a new battery, or a child could trace the problem, I'm stupid, or I'm lying? Here's hoping. I know some of you are good enough people to understand this.

Have you personally used a meter to try to locate the parasitic power drain?

I trust the dealers to find a problem like that. I'm too old to go crawling around like that, anyhow.

When was the last time that you took your Prius to the dealership for the 12v battery draining problem?

    You could easily be both.

You practically have no technical knowledge, skill, and understanding whatsoever, but you are doing electrical modifications on your car. I already explained what was wrong with your car in glory detail in my previous post. Since you do not believe me or any others here, you should take your car to the dealer, especially so because it is still under warranty. Attacking us, who are engineers and scientists, for not knowing what we are talking about while you yourself have no science/engineering knowledge, is simply moronic. It is not that attacking anyone for any reason is allowed here.

Now, this is a clear example of an ad hominem attack. I wouldn't attack your engineering skill, but your ability to understand my work leaves much to be desired. You call my intelligence into question, but despite my clear and repetitive descriptions, you seem deliberate in your efforts to misstate them and portray me as a "moron." I clearly know a lot more about the system than you have demonstrated. You seem eager to double down on false interpretations, instead of admitting your errors. This clearly shows a lack of character on your part.

Enough to know that they can't find the problem, or they don't have a fix for it. I raised more than enough Cain over it to know that nothing more could be done.

You did not answer my question. What was the date you last took the car to the dealership for this problem.

Additional question. Who many times did you take it to the same dealership for this problem.

You are wasting your time. He will either troll you or attack you.

He has practically trolled or attacked everyone on this thread. He has showed complete incompetence in the technical department (such as setting the battery-insulator cut-in voltage to 12.1 V and many other things he has been doing and saying). He is entirely incoherent. His stories vary everyday, often contradicting themselves. He always blames everyone except himself for his problems. Even if he finally acknowledges that he was wrong, he blames other for causing him to be mistaken.

He is worse than Trump. LOL

Counter question: How many times would be sufficient when no solution has been found?

You can't "attack" or "troll" anyone with the facts. Fact are all I've stated.
You're so sore at being exposed as a troll, that you project it my way.

I would keep taking my car back to the dealership as many times as it would take until it was fixed.

So, you are not willing to answer my questions? Do you want help with the problem or not?

Answer, I have raised the issue at each scheduled service, the most recent being 2 weeks ago. They never have a solution.

I would be a fool for repeating the same action with no result. It's interesting that you would.

OK, but he just implied that you were a fool in his latest post. :)

That is exactly what he feeds on here on this forum. He throws a stone in a well, and then he attacks others who come to help.

Are you afraid to report me? I'd say you would be the one found at fault.

What exactly did the dealership check and report during this service for the 12v battery draining problem. Do you have the service paperwork that you can take a picture of, which shows what they did during the visit?

I keep mentioning the problem to them each visit, but they seem to be resolved with me having to live with it. I have learned to manage with my workaround, instead of being the constant crybaby about it.
