This may belong in FHOPolitic, but

I thought that the Hatch Act specifically exempts the POTUS and VPOTUS because they're very role is political.
That was before the 'daze of rage' caused by Trump v. United States on July 1, 2024 when it was decided that a former president can be criminally prosecuted for unofficial acts but has immunity for official actions taken while in office.

I think that just leaves impeachment - which to complete the circle is not a legal but rather a political recourse.

We have roughly 330 million people living in the US - and over 3 million fed workers.
That means that roughly 1 in 100 folks are thusly employed and many of us know more than one such worker.
Their next paycheck is in a couple of weeks - so we will see what happens 'eh.

This is (unfortunately!) in a company owned PC - and a Windows one to boot (or not) so I'm not going to do down to the USDA web page - especially if the result is seeing T Swift in a 'size huge' bathing suit.

Just to calm you all down so you can sleep tonight, the huge size actually refers to Taylor Swift not following the usual trend of starving themselves slim, but rather accepts her natural size and works with it ..... so, no big busting out boobs in a bikini top 4 sizes too small, that's just click bait

Not seen, but reminds me of a story. Long ago at Oak Ridge Natl Lab I was a junior employee. A not to be named senior employee (SE) enjoyed calling my phone and farting into his. A bit later an Important Visitor (IV) came to our Division and I was showing him around. IV wanted to make a phone call and headed towards office of SE. It was my task to get him to use a different telephone without saying why.

Wrapping it up, I ended my receipt of fart calls by forwarding all my phone calls to Division Leader (DL). That may have led to a discussion between DL and SE I did not witness.

 

Living in a town Redstone Arsenal and Marshall Space Flight Center built, kinda hard not to notice the drop in traffic and business customers. We are back to a "rush minute" and no wait shopping. Granted, Huntsville is somewhat unique.

I think we may still have a member to lives in Northern Virginia. He should really notice the change but every town around major government sites should witness an effect. Then there are major contractor towns like Rome GA. Heck, Atlanta traffic might be tolerable ... now.

Had a curious replication of the "Karen pickup" last midnight. A four lane road with a center turn lane. A sole car over 200 yards away. I moved to left lane ready to enter the turn lane and noticed the other car was now 'riding my rear bumper.' As I make my left turn in the center, the other driver yells at me and charges off like the previous day's "Karen pickup."
