Is there an aftermarket HUD that is able to show when the car goes from ICE to EV ?
If not, how hard would it be to hook up a dash mounted LED that comes on when the ICE is on ?
I can't always hear or feel when the ICE is on, and this would be a non distracting way to know.

I'm posting a lot recently, so instead of creating another thread, I'd also like to ask what you guys prefer for a MPG gauge, and why.
The ScanGauge, or something else ?

Both of those functions are natively on the MFD's Energy Monitor screen.

Yep; simply change your default display options.
You can still buy that stuff, if that money is burning a hole in your pockets. A better excuse would be to give the car the ability to do hands-free phone.:):eek:o_O:whistle:

Someone a while back posted about this. I picked up a P10 Pro OBD2 HUD. It connects to the OBD2 port under the dash and has multiple display options and data. I have it set to speed (mph/kmh), rpm, coolant temp, and oil temp. When ICE kicks on it displays the rpm and when in EV mode, rpm reads 0.

Maybe a gen 2 thing? Our gen 3 I find it unmistakable, both due to sound and feel.

Is there an engine oil temp sensor on a gen2? I know there's an oil pressure sensor. You sure that other temperature sensor isn't for the EV coolant system? That should be running cooler than the engine coolant sensor.

Just asking; not that familiar with a gen2.

I'm deaf in one ear and partially so in the other.
As I get to know the car better, I may be able to feel the difference.
Regarding the MFD, I can't see it easily, since it is located in the middle of the car instead of in the driver's line of sight.
The plastic screen is also heavily fogged over.
Even if it was in the line of sight, it would still be distracting, so I was thinking of adding in a dim ( blue ) LED light that is in my peripheral vision.
It was suggested that I could easily do this simply by connecting the LED to one of the fuel injector wires.
As the ICE comes on, the light would go on.

No clue. The instructions call it oil temp but I have no idea what data it is reading from OBD2.

Possibly the temp of the transmission oil. It would be easier to be sure if the app showed the ECU address from which that PID is retrieved.
