Hey all, Looking for a place to buy a replacement compressor. Is EBay a safe bet? Junkyards have plenty available but getting one with known mileage is difficult. Also can I get away with replacing just the compressor and the drier bag in the condenser? If the old compressor did make some metal would it go any further than the drier bag? I caught it early and it only ran about 15 seconds making noise before I shut it off. Thanks
An auto wrecker is gonna give you credit if compressor is not good at the moment you bring it in. Ebay will eventually do something similar but it will take way longer and shipping returns suck, especially heavy ones. To increase your odds of success you could call around to see if there's an Auto AC shop that will bench test your compressor. Not sure if that's a thing, but if it is in your area, let us know?
Wow... Impressive, only $150 2004-2009 Toyota Prius OEM Reman A/C Compressor | Belt Driven | Genuine OEM | 1 Year Manufacturer Warranty | United States | AC
The picture looks right. The "Belt Driven" in the title doesn't. I can't fathom what "USA OEM Remanufactured" means, for this item.
The word "belt" wasn't present when I looked just now. "USA OEM Remanufactured" could mean "OEM (compressor) remanufactured in USA", but I agree the construct as used is ambiguous.
Still seems to be there for me, in the <title> (look in the top bar of your browser window, if you're on a desktop). I think that's where PriusChat got it from when auto-linkifying.
Ah, I see the problem. I'm using Firefox with tabs and the "belt" part is beyond the truncation point which is after "OEM". I can see it if the cursor hovers over the tab.
Yeah well you know the Chinese folks they get carried away with the translations all the nonsense . But they've been selling those for a minute one my customers has one I installed it .
