I got a set of Nordicware at Costco that are plain aluminum. Bakeware of that metal seems more likely to not have the nonstick coating.
Failing that, a silicone sheet to go over the coating.

Yep; that's what I use. Whenever I group camp, I'd get multiple reminders to bring my cast iron set. I'm amazed that so many people don't know how to take proper care of them and how easy they are to clean. Even had someone in the group bring their new preseasoned set. Had to stop them from cooking with it out of the box. They didn't realize there was a wax layer to give it that sheen, so we baked the set over the camp fire. They were surprised by all the junk dripping off the set.
The ladies were always crying that they're too heavy - I just say that I don't need a gym membership.....

As far as cookie sheets go; try Goodwill or garage sales; that's my go-to for good old fashion non-teflon equipment. Always on the look-out for Pyrex, you can get replacement lids online. You can go from fridge to microwave or oven with the old stuff, without the chance of shattering.

They knew going in that there would be problems. They just didn't know which ones. Fully sealed for two years was an extreme goal. No one had ever done anything that ambitious. For the second mission, the seven month one, they fixed the food and air problems before they went in. Don't know about the psychological issues, I haven't found any public accounts of that mission.

I thought that was more of a hostile takeover than a "rescue" mission. The new management reportedly had a crisp focus on monetizing the place. They also appear to have lost? Thrown out? much of that data collected on the first mission, data that we can't currently recreate.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but now I need to know.

    Two things:
    Guns and ICE.

You used to be able to live for no food costs going into grocery store dumpsters. Live well on it too.

We just got back from the supermarket.
$240. For about a weeks worth of groceries for two.
And that’s almost all vegetables, fruits, bread, protein, and etc.
    No snacks, or sweets

I guess that wet noodle didn't teach you anything!!!
If your going to defy executive orders, at least live a little bit - Don't skimp on the snacks and sweets; before ICE drags you away - so might as well enjoy it. :):p:ROFLMAO::whistle:

Basically, if you areeating hotdogs, chicken nuggets and some fast food hamburgers, you are eating what might have been considered as meat byproducts and used as dog food 40 years ago.

We are now basically eating Alpo and Ken-L-Ration from the 1960's,.

Hamburgers are one thing, but if you were eating hotdogs and chicken nuggets 40 years ago you were eating what might have been considered as meat byproducts.

It IS possible to eat for $3 a meal....and even eat WELL.
    Luxuriously even, by world standards.
People in the US just have to re-normalize themselves with proper food portions and meal expectations.

Example: A pound of organic, grass-fed beef can be had for less than $6 if you don't mind your friends seeing your car in a Walmart parking lot. Even at $7 that's only about a buck thirty for the meat portion of your $3 and that's for BEEF.
Bread is super cheap AND super easy to spread out over a week.
Canned (or even frozen) veggies are as well.

People who factor in prep time are missing the whole point.
IF you're making the US median wage as advertised by those far righties at Google, which is roughly $30/household hour then YOUR time IS worth something BUT not worth what you're paying to have somebody cook for you, IF you want to retire someday.
    Pay yourself FIRST. ;)

If you’ve got spare time (we’ve got oodles now), flour’s even cheaper.

A few years back I started noticing a lot of shoe-wear centered around procuring store-bought bread. Now it's from-scratch English muffins (took me quite some time to dial-in a recipe and workflow on that), biscuits, pancakes, cookies

Better FOR you too...and if you do not have spare time, then you don't need to try and eat for $3 a meal.

If you think red meat and bread make a healthy meal three times a day, you’re disagreeing with the current guidelines

There's a Youtuber we watch, My Self Reliance, Ontario homesteader, farming, hunting, and he used to eat a fairly balanced diet. He went on a road trip with his wife, got "converted" to some miracle diet, and now it's mostly meat he's eating, plus some powdered supplement drink (which he hawks in each video, which get's old). Breakfast, lunch and dinner, meat, meat and meat. I think he's nuts, lol.He is looking a little gaunt too.

You need the supplement with road kill. Real savings there.

While the Atkins diet works too; the question is the contaminates in that supplement drink. If it's such a great diet, why do you need the supplement???? Does he get annual check-ups and how does his liver and kidney functions look???

Bottom line, everything is moderation - going too much to the right or left isn't a miracle cure for what ails you. More than likely it'll do long term harm.

This kinda reminds me of a modern twist to the old Herbal-Life Ponzi scheme from the 80s and 90s. With YouTube you can direct market and cut out the middle men.
