I bought a 2012 prius that has the abs light/traction control. The man took the car to both the dealership and a private mechanic. Dealership says it needs brake booster assembly eith master cylinder and the the brake booster. The private mechanic said it needs brake master cylinder and modulator sold separately but all one unit.

Im fairly mechanically inclined so i watched some videos and said i think i can tackle this. The only part that is confusing to me as that toyota lists the part numbers as 2 separate parts for the brake booster assembly with master cylinder, it has an old part number (47050-47180 AND 47050-47190) and new (04008-11347 AND 04008-11447). Then But in all of the many videos I've watched, only 2 parts are being replaced. So my question is am I actually needing to purchase 3 parts or is it vin specific which one if the part numbers I should order under the brake booster assembly with master cylinder?

Provide the VIN to the Toyota parts department. They will provide the correct parts
    for YOUR car.
One part assembly includes the master cylinder. The other assembly is the pump.

You will need Techstream, a D8, or other Diagnostic computer to bleed and set them up.

I have figured out which parts I needed, I eventually realized one of those part numbers was for the trim 5, and the other for trim 1-4. Ive also seen there is a gasket, does that come included or is there a separate part number that ive yet to locate? My local Toyota parts department is not very helpful at all on this. I have access to my autel ap200 and my brother's...im not sure what model his is, but it cost like $5k...so i assume if mine doesnt do the linear offset that his will. I know ive seen people mention that mine does the brake bleed procedure...i just dont know if that is included.

There are other Toyota dealerships to go to. And you can also phone other dealers.
I've been very fortunate, the two I went to on either coast have been great.

I did some more digging in this forum...i had to read A LOT before finding it...mine will do it (linear offset) but if something happens, and it doesn't get it right, you cant just go back to that specifically like you could in Techstream. A lot of people also mentioned topdon, so i might grab that one as well. I'll probably go through my brother's as well, as his has way more features...just wanted to update this in case someone else planning on doing the job is searching...and ill update again once ive completed the job.

If you're at the dealership I'd ask for a quote for the whole job. A lot of DIY'rs make it through the wrenching (with some struggles), only to be confounded by the bleed process.
