Just yank on it or is there somewhere I should use a tool?

    Thanks!

Yank up sharply on each side towards the front. You may or may not break the white retainers the seat clips into. Replace if necessary; they're considered non-reusable. The rear half of the seat bottom has loops that hook under metal hooks bolted to the floor. You need to pull the seat bottom forward a bit to see the connections, then push the loop down while pulling that side of the seat forward a bit. Repeat on the other side. I've only pulled the seat bottom out after first removing the seat backs, so I don't know how easy/hard it is to get the loops under the hooks with the seat backs still in place.

Toyota hasn't changed the basic design in decades, so videos of gen3/4/5 all show what you need to do.

I keep a couple handy in the center console. The recall kit for the fuel tank came with a couple, so I asked the dealership to leave them in the car if they didn't use them. They didn't, so now I have spares.
