How many covid shots have you had now so far?

 

Progress, perhaps, in acknowledging that the polio vaccine is a 'real' vaccine—so, something that lowers your risk of paralytic polio 90% after two jabs, or 99-100% after three jabs (but doesn't stop you, if you're exposed, from being a poliovirus-replicating factory for your downstream neighbors for some days or weeks while you fight it off without feeling sick) is a 'real' vaccine. Even subject to the same kinds of limitations as other vaccines.

Polio also has something to teach about that kind of 'prediction'. #207 briefly mentioned that the oral polio vaccines "have their own problems". The chief one is that the weakened polioviruses they contain, if they manage to circulate long enough in a community that isn't well-enough protected yet, tend to mutate back toward the strength of the wild versions, becoming able to cross the blood-brain barrier and cause paralysis again. Dependably, in independent times and places, not any kind of one-off fluke.

Food for thought the next time anyone 'predicts' that selective pressure has to make viruses nicer to their human hosts.

Selective pressure has to make viruses better at making more viruses. If there's a variant that happens to kill you way too fast, you might predict selective pressure acts against that. Other than that, what happens to you doesn't matter to what succeeds for the virus.

Good to know that sound information is reaching your ears. What happens to it after that is kind of outside anyone else's control.

 

Ya'll getting covid "vaccines" yearly, bi-yearly...what? Now if you want to get personal about this...I can oblige with the same free speech as well.

I’ve gotten the latest COVID shot every year about 10-14 days after the flu vaccination. I prefer to stagger my vaccinations in case there is a side effect.

Before any covid vaccines were ever produced, I did post warnings here that, based on the rapid fading of survivor immunity of the four known common cold coronaviruses, don't be surprised if covid vaccine immunity also fades rapidly.

I wasn't actually making a prediction, just warning about a potential plausible outcome. Which is exactly what ended up happening.

 

That's one hell of a "vaccine" then. I'll pass since my own immune system seems to have worked it out all by itself...and I now have my freedom back to choose. Speaking of freedom...time to get ready for work now. This is my last year punching the clock...although we have more than enough nest egg already.

For how long, d'y'think? Have you stopped catching colds ever since your immune system figured them out? When did that happen?

plus, you can't rust the death certificates, coroners, doctors, hospitals, scientists, the fad or the cdc.
