    Hi everyone,

I recently lost one of my key fobs for my 2017 Toyota Prius and need to program a new spare. I bought an Autel MaxiIM KM100 for the job, but I've run into a bit of a roadblock.

When I tried to program the new key, the device asked for a PIN code (or outcode/incode). I'm a bit stuck here—how or where can I get this PIN code? Does the KM100 have a built-in function to bypass/calculate it for this year, or do I need to get it from a third-party service?

If anyone has successfully programmed a smart key for this generation using the KM100, I would greatly appreciate any tips or step-by-step advice!

    Thanks in advance!

You probably need a seed code or passcode to make a key. Requires your vin.

There are 3rd parties that can provide that. It’s suppose to be secure method so people can’t make keys with ease. I have a friend in the Los Angeles area that can help you with making the key or maybe he'll sell you one of these codes if you want to attempt it yourself

Thanks for your help! I did some research yesterday and found a way to bypass this step, so I don't need any further assistance at the moment. Much appreciated!

I’m still using the Autel KM100, but I tried a different approach. I watched a few YouTube videos and read some articles, and found a method that worked for me. Instead of going through the usual PIN process, I accessed it via the keyless system and backed up the IMMO data first. After that, I was able to generate the key without needing the PIN.

It worked successfully on my side, so it might be worth looking into.
