Just need to vent...

Isn't that a two-way street? A French Canadian friend, visits France - & the look of disdain when French Canadians fail to pronounce words with even the different accents seems to drive many in France nuts.

 

Can't speak for the French But if *I* go to a country, should be expected to know at least reasonable amts of basic language for said country -- how they react to my accent, is their problem. I've done my due diligence getting my point across.

Moving to, or living long-term / frequent-visiting a country... doing so 50 yrs... and still not able to read a power bill (a US-citizen relative of mine who constantly complains about not being able to read English whilst not doing anything about it), that's what I'm objecting to.

 

Nothing worse than waiting waiting waiting for that online part from a company that touts how fast they deliver, only to find out when it finally gets there days late, it doesn't remotely match what it's supposed to replace. Well, Maybe the Orange silicone seal color matches. Sorta.



So for now, get the compressor out, blow all the dead bees, the sticks, the Dust out of the expired one and then down to Staples office supply to do the return.

This one came from one of the several 3rd party Amazon resellers, "Vashen Auto" buying their stuff from china. This is why I often just go to Walmart or Craigen O'Reilly auto - so I can size things up.

Hey Zepp -- I got a '99 Ford Escort out of heading for the landfill 16y ago, up and running with RA. No they weren't the nicest components, and yes, certain other parts I made sure were OEM Ford (or OEM Mazda, as all that era's non-sporty Escorts were 323s with craptastic domestic 2-valve engines in them)... but about 8/10 parts were from RA.

Did I have to modify some of them (like engine mounts), because they looked like they were cast in a pit in the ground in the jungle somewhere? Yes (with of all things, windscreen glue -- which gave me indestructible but flexible-enough mounts that wouldn't break in a year, for pennies on the dollar ).

Were most of them perfectly fine, and still on the car when a drunk bashed into it parked 3y later? Again yes (like the Moog ball joints, swaybar isolators, and about a dozen other parts). Agreed on RA... for certain things

Name Brands are Name Brands. That's what I buy ... and they're always cheaper.

 

It's quite a hefty fine and loss of licence points over this side of the globe if you get caught with one of these and no aux licence plate displayed, complete with a number plate light. Even a towball left on a trailer hitch will be enough to get a fine .....
