    Hi All,

My wife has a 2010 Prius 3 owned it since new the rear piece on the hatch was once black now faded bad.
The car is polished 3X annually due to East Coast weather and the paint is new excellent condition, many do not believe the car is a 15 year young daily driver. But that rear piece is bad.

Does anyone know what it is called, and more important -- does anyone have a suggestion what can be used to get some of the color black back ? Something - tried and true ?

It feels like plastic, not sure the material. Please see the picture attached.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Easiest is plasti-dip spray paint... It has a nice texture and takes a fresh layer even when peeling. Also it can be peeled off if you ever need a fresh start. The other option is to remove it and take it to a body shop for a professionally done coat of paint. There's also several options between these two extremes.

Carbon fiber wrap it or wrap it in satin black. It'll look nicer and withstand the 3x annual detailing better than paint will. The wrap shouldn't peel with temperature variations and withstand greasy finger prints better..

Got to sand, prime, Paint and 2k seal it. Not that hard but it might be cheaper to hit the pick n pull and grab one in better condition off a wrecked vehicle for $70ish
