dash storage compartment

    Hello, the other day i was driving at night, and I noticed that the light in thr dash compartment, the bottom bigger one doesnt turn off when you close the compartment. i noticed because there is like a gap line around the buttong to open it. Is it supposed to stay on like that? Its a 2008 Prius. Thanks.

    There is no switch to shut it off. It is a low current bulb and it does shut off when you power down your Prius so ... no problem.

    I noticed that too but apparently it is normal. Always on when the headlights are on. No worries.

    Exactly. Headlights on = glove box on. A few years ago there was a discussion about someone installing a switch so it would shut off when they closed the hatch but I don't know what ever came of that.
