My wife has asked me and now I have to figure it out. She says that the saleman told her that if she has the car on 'smart key' mode where she leaves the key in her purse she can just walk away from the car and it self locks? But her car doesnt do it. and she wants it too! I want my wallet to automatically refill with cash after she raids it too, but... anyway! Can the key fob be used to program this to happen? The locks, not the money. would be ncie tho!
The car will not lock itself. With SKS, just push the black button on the door handle to lock the car. It beeps when it locks. The information is in the Owner's Manual
Yeah, it won't happen unless she pushes the little button to lock the doors. Sounds like another "informed" salesman she ran into there. Maybe she should take it back by the dealer and ask him to show her how it works......
However... if the car is locked, and you unlock it with the button on the key fob and don't open a door, the car will relock after a minute or less (don't remember how long).
You -can- program the door locks to either unlock only the drivers door or all doors when you grab the drivers door handle. If you grab the passenger door handle or the hatch handle all the doors will unlock. This is NOT programmable. And as stated above, all the doors will relock if you don't open one within 30 sec of unlocking them, regardless of which door handle (or the fob) you used to unlock them. Pressing any of the three black buttons until the car beeps will lock all the doors.
