So I'm the type of guy who will search for coupon codes, best prices and discounts before every online purchase (and then I'll buy using a zero balance credit card that gives me 1.5% cash back). Well, if you're like me, there's a site here you'll love. It's called "Ebates" and it basically gives you a 1-5% rebates on purchases from you're already on your way to. Buy.com (1%), NewEgg.com (1%), Target (4%), J&R Music World (3%), Staples (2%). If you're interested, click follow the link below. They'll give you a $10 bonus for signing up, plus I get a bonus for the referal. www.ebates.com/refer-a-friend/bonusoffer/index.htm?id=33841439 Ordinarily I wouldn't post things like this, but the site really is a cheapskates dream. I had to make three large online purchases this month and just from going through EBates, I ended up accruing about $40 back.
Since we're on this path RedFlagDeals.com: Canada's Bargain Shopping Community! Find Deals, Coupons, Freebies and more! for Canadian folks
This site has a lot of fans on the simple living / frugality forums I visit: Coupons, Grocery Coupons - The Grocery Game :: Home. It's essentially sale/coupon/special database for major grocery and drug stores updated on a weekly basis. It's supposed to keep track of each store's specials, coupons and sales and point out when products are at their absolute lowest price (usually a sale combined with coupons) so you can stock up on those items. I've tossed around the idea of signing up for it for awhile but decided it's not really worth it at this time for me. I do most of my shopping at Trader Joes which has fixed prices. Plus there's a bit of legwork in getting a hold of the coupons needed. But, if you're already into couponing it might be worth a shot.
That coupon site looks interesting. My wife and I probably need to use more coupons, but she's worried that coupon clipping would get us to buy stuff we otherwise wouldn't.
Thanks, I signed up...I used your name [email protected] for the referal addy...hope that was right. I got $10 today (must be a special). For my little contribution to the thread here are the discount sites I use: Hot Deals Club - frequently updated with the best deals a smaller site, but they tend to post only really good deals...not a lot of sorting through threads like on slickdeals or fatwallet. I also use http://www.dealighted.com...it is an amalgam of several deal sites including those I don't like like fatwallet, slickdeals, and a few others. But it allows you to quickly screen for those you might be interested in before wading into the thread itself.
There's also www.fatwallet.com . The forums in particular have lots of good heads-up on limited time and obscure offers
That's right! Seems weird that you'd have to enter in the email address given the referal link, but oh well. I think you're right, though. It looks like you get $10 for signing up once you make your first purchase (which is a great perk if you're going to buy something anyway). Come to think of it, I think my first purchase was a $8 baby-proofing gadget that ended up getting me $10 back. That Coupons, Bargains, and Free Stuff - Dealighted Discount Shopping site is pretty cool! I always stumble upon FatWallet, SlickDeals, etc., but it's usually because I'm Googling for coupon codes on the stuff I know I want to buy. If I went to the site directly, I think I'd end up buying all sorts of stuff I don't really need! You really do find insane deals on those sites, though. I ended up needing a Logitech Harmony RF remote + base station once. They're normally $300 or so on Amazon or Best Buy, but I found a coupon code on one of the sites for $100 off! Not bad for five minutes worth of effort!
Cha ching! Thanks guys! That site really is pretty cool. For instance, I really want to broadcast my PC to my TV screen and have waited months for the D-Link DPG 1200 to come out. It just did, and when I bought it, I found out MacMall seemed to have the best price, I checked to see if MacMall was on Ebates (it turns out they are), so just by visiting Ebates and clicking their MacMall link, I ended up getting about $4 back on the purchase! Not bad. Certainly worth the minute of extra effort it takes to click the affiliate link on their site.
fatwallet also offers "Cash Back" through many retailers. The link is at the top of the Hot Deals forum. I have used it many times. You can peruse this link for the % you can get back. Very easy: Cash Back & Online Coupons Another great site (though somewhat overwhelming) is slickdeals Hot Deals - SlickDeals.net Forums You wouldn't believe how many coupons and rebates I use each year. As a Friend of mine said, "you've got to stop saving so much money". Heh
