It seems like some of the posts in this thread had pictures. The Kuwait City one was a picture, wasn't it? I found the image in google.
I think pictures can be substituted if you can still find the place in Googlemaps and it is recognizable as the place in the photo. I think Naptown's photo fits into that description because you can find the kuwaiti globes using Googlemaps -- you probably won't see him waving back at you in the Googlemaps satellite image. Part of the hunt is proving you have the correct place by placing a link to the Googlemaps page after you find it. At least two extremely devious people found locations that were miniatures of real places and they were visible from Googlemaps satellite imagery. You think you found the spot and go crazy when the picture is a little different. They should be the same.
Try GoogleMaps, or GoogleEarth. All the better to ogle...edit...with. I usually use the earth one, but I think it's the same idea with maps. You have to turn off the compass and overlays so nothing shows up that's going to give away your chosen location. Save the image, again not with a revealing name, and upload it. (But, that hasn't been working so well for some of us lately...I think there's a whole nuther thread on it.) Anyway, the idea is to pick somewhere known for something, if only the rest of us knew what it was, and feed us clues. Have a look back at some of the stuff from before: there are all kinds of themes you could follow.
I remember this place when they used to have the continuous reel of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It was very tiring to ride Space Mountain, run past Kirk Douglas fighting the giant squid, and try to get back in line as fast as possible. "It's a Small World After All" was just plain annoying! DISNEY WORLD FL - Google Maps Good job, Sam! I even liked your clue.

That's gotta be the mermaid in Copenhagen... Let me see if I can post an image...nope, that didn't work. Pardon me while I go find this imageshack thingy. It worked! OK, assuming I got the last one right and it's my turn... This place used to be a real blast.
Oops. Sorry, I never even looked at Sam's answer before I carried on. So, we're looking for a diamond mine, not in Australia.
