I have a 2005 Prius, purchased used. I don't have an official Toyota booklet on needed service. I downloaded the 30,000 mile from toyota. com. All I can find are things that need checking in addition to the routine items I have done by a local mechanic. Are the items listed as to be checked sufficient?
Congratulations on your purchase. Yes, the Toyota maintenance schedule is a good guide. When you get up to 60K miles you may want to add the following items to the list: - replace transaxle fluid - replace PCV valve Also, you may want to think about replacing the 12V auxiliary battery when the car is 5 or 6 years old as a preventive measure. If you live in an area with cold winters, sooner vs. later would be better.
