I have had my Prius for 4 weeks and love it. I do have one question: I have package 5 which includes the anti-glare (auto-dimming) inside rearview mirror. The owners manual says that when this feature is turned on the outside rearview mirrors will also reduce headlight glare, but mine don't. Is there something wrong or am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks for all the great help in the posts on this site.
The wing mirrors are standard fare. Only the rearview mirror (i.e. the one inside the car) dims automatically.
On page 74 of the Owners' Manual it says: "Auto anti-glare function (vehicle with auto anti-glare function) When the anti-glare inside rear view mirror is set to automatic mode, the outside rear view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside rear view mirror to reduce reflected light." That's why I'm asking the question, because it appears that the outside rear view mirros should auto-dim as well. On my Lexus the driver's side outside rear view mirror auto-dims. Thanks to anyone who can un-confuse me!!!
. Err... that looks like something out of the Lexus manual lol. If that's in the Prius' manual, somebody made a boo boo.
I had the same question . I also have had a 2008 Pruis for about 4 weeks and on page 74 of my Pruis manual it says the same thing noted above. Have you had any further luck in determining if this is a mistake in the manual or not?
Toyota's manuals are well known for including extraneous information. They include information on many options, even some not available in our market. Take it with a grain of salt. Tom
