OK ... I like to think I'm fairly tech savvy, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to embed video in a post. I've tried it, but when I do a preview of the post all I see is the embed code I tried. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
Turns out that it's considerably easier than you think. Which is why a super genius such as yourself is having difficulties figuring it out. After struggling with it for several minutes, I finally figured that I'll just provide the URL to the YouTube page and let the people launch it from there. Turns out, that's what you're supposed to do. Nothing fancy: just find the video you want, select the URL and paste it in the post. Apparently, the forum software parses it out and figures out how to handle it.
Thanks, Tony. As George Carlin said about one of his ideas, "See how often the simple solution eludes us." Wait! I know this one!! Use the button on the editor, just like you do for a post. At least that's how you can do it for a picture that's hosted online.
OK ... I figured out how to do it. Go into your User CP and create a photo album. Upload your photo(s) to the album. Once your photo is in the album, view the album and click on the picture you want. You'll see the picture and, underneath it, the URL. Copy & paste that URL when using the "insert picture" button. This picture is in my album ...
Along the top of every page is a menu bar with the items: Home | Forums | Prius Shop | User CP | FAQ | Members List | View New Posts | Search | Quick Links | Log Out Click "Quick Links" and select "Pictures & Albums." You will most likely be taken to a page that says, "Click here to add an album and start uploading pictures!"
still no luck. i did all the above and all that appears is the url, not the actual pic...however, i did notice under signature permissions it states "upload images for signature" no
John - When editing your sig, try using the button on the editor. You should get a box that says "Please enter the URL of your image". Paste the full path to the picture in your album into the box & click "OK". The image should show up in the editor. Mike
hi mike i did just that, it wouldnt let me paste it, so i entered the url manually and what you see in my sig now is what i got..i think the administrator has to turn my sig permission on john
