This seems legit. If anyone can debunk this let me know. I know people make mistakes, but better safe than sorry. Felonspy.com - You need to know who your neighbors are. Especially if they're dangerous criminals
I've done the sexual predator thing a few times. Plenty in my neighborhood. Plenty in every neighborhood. My Mother did it for her neighborhood and got hits too. Some pretty close. I know my parents' neighbors more than I know my own. There are a lot of rentals in my area, both apartments and houses. After a while, I just couldn't keep track of who moved and who was new. Surprisingly, on that site I don't have any in my immediate neighborhood within all of the major cross streets. That's pretty suprising.
The data on this site seems very incomplete. E.g., I can plug in my address on any of the registered sex offender sites and get more finds than this site.
Wouldn't work for me because South Australia is missing from the list of states. I noticed Alabama is at the top of the list, I assume that is the worst state for criminals.
alittle off the predator track but dealing with neighbors and social capital There is an excellent book i enjoyed reading and recommend titled 'Bowling Alone' http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/0743203046?tag=priuschatcom-20 The book reflects on american society, neighborhoods, and social capital detailing the development of isolation in american culture and neighborhoods...you might enjoy this if you are interested in neighborhood culture... also check out rottenneighbor.com (i think it is.. google it) obnoxiusneighbor.com they all self reporting. so i take it with a grain of salt.
wow.. what a sick community i live in.... it only shows till about a mile off.. which.. for me is my entire neighborhood ( 1 mile loop) it turns out i see 5 Pins and 3 Markers.... assuming pins are incidents and markers are living people? 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th degrees...
This is a fake site. I typed in my parents address (they live on a dead end street with 5 houses on it and a park behind them) the arrow is pointing to the park land claiming someone lives there and is a sexual preditor. There is no one that lives on there street by the name of that person. I know all my parents neighbors.
the site is lame. we have a local site available and updated by the state and county court and probation system. i consider it very accurate since many parolees are required to register and ALL SEX offenders are required and on the felonspy site, there is nothing in my neighborhood at all. nearest one is about a mile away. i live across the street from a park that has 3 housing associations surrounding it so there is probably about 3-400 single family homes here. the website by the local government here lists 13 people including 2 within a block of me that are less than ½ mile away.
Interesting results. But it did miss a registered offender 2 blocks away. For the record: I love bowling alone.
I've been living quietly and peacefully in my neighborhood for a quarter century and suddenly the existence of a website like this means I'm living in danger? Pshaaaa! We've got to get over our fear of our fellow man. This is precisley the type of mindless fear mongering that not only increases social isolation, it enables the systematic dismantling of our Constitution without a whimper of protest. Take a hard look at what our culture is becoming and it resembles the bleak, alienated "spy on your neighbor, trust no one" dystopia of old Soviet society. Toss websites like this into the trash and let's get out the front door and meet our neighbors in person - build UP the relationships that define neighborhood, not cower behind locked doors trembling at the presence of ghosts. Hey, I may have a rude sense of humour, but I'm no sex offender, if that's what you're implying. I'm a good neighbour.
I think this may be the most popular and reputable of the locate registered sex offenders near you sites: National Sex Offender Registry patsparks - this site's list of states is alphabetical as well ... but they start with Alaska!
