Did someone forget to tell the Chicago gas stations that the price per barrel of oil is 50% lower than in July? You'd think Chicago was located near Sarah Palin's town in Alaska with the price we pay for gas. I thought the refinery issue was temporary. We get taxed to death by King Richard J. Daley and still can't catch a break on gas.
Three hundred bucks a gallon? Holy crap, that's expensive. Demand must be pretty much zero, and bicycle sales should be really rollin'.
Yep, looks like there are stations showing $3.00/gal in Chicago. If you are willing to travel a bit, you should check out Illinois Map Gas Prices - Find the Lowest Illinois Gas Prices on a Map to locate the best prices.
I just paid $2.20 gallon in the SF Bay Area. In turlock, CA, I passed a gas station that had $1.99 gallon.
Let’s not forget to factor in crook county’s lord stroger’s backroom deal on the county budget. Making the sales tax here at 9% I believe. Indiana is only 25 minutes aways from the loop.
I work out in the suburbs once a week where I gas up. If you live in Chicago you not only have to go beyond the Chicago city limits but Cook County as well. Indiana is a good option but I usually head out to Will or DuPage County. If you can get further out the price falls considerably. You are right about these backroom deals and the greed. The greed from these Chicago democrats would make a Republican blush. And Stroger is the laughing stock of the bunch. You'd think the way they tax s we were living in a tropical paradise....just put on my longies today!
Question I've always wondered...Shouldn't gas in Urban areas be more expensive? I mean, isn't the land/lease/rent more expensive? As far the the Chi town area(including dupage/will, etc), there are enviromental additives required that add approx .25 to .35/gal. Sucks all around.
