My first Pancake Post.... Look at this video and then ask yourself if Brazil, Argentina and Mexico should be helping to bail out Ford!:nono: detnews.com | Webvideo | Ford's most advanced assembly plant operates in rural Brazil
What is a "pancake post"? Very nice factory. I like the idea of putting the undercarriage in place before the shell. Very different and efficient, no stooping under the car to tighten bolts and attach parts. Holden here have set up industrial parks around their factory for suppliers so almost like this, they even built a bridge over a main road to ensure timely deliveries. Not all businesses in the industrial parks are there to supply Holden, in fact when Mitsubishi was running here they supplied them too.
I don't understand why Brazil, Argentina or Mexico owe Ford anything. Ford built the plants there. Ford could have built the plants here. Then they'd have one of the most modern and flexible assembly plants. But....they didn't. Not the fault of Brazil, Argentina or Mexico. Ford's choice. Ford's decision.
