In about two hours I'll be headed over to the Cobo Center for "Industry Day" at the Detroit Auto Show. My priorities are: non-electric hybrids - the ones that might fit best in utility trucks and business vehicles obscure products - I'll be looking at the 'down show' booths, the ones who may have innovative points of view visit GM net buddy - one of the GM engineers has offered a closer look at the mid-size, two-modes. This may include a test drive but mostly it means going over the details other booths - no doubt I'll run out of energy before done I'll also see if I can gain more insights about the 2010 from what we didn't have time to address Monday evening. Are there any information requests? Bob Wilson
Hi Bob, See if you can confirm that the bladder is gone - there is some confusion about that. I would also like to know what sort of mileage hit you get from the moonroof, mostly in the closed configuration. It has to cost something. Tom
Bob, This might be "off topic." If they are there, can you go by the DashDAQ booth and inquire as to their liklihood of programming a Prius specific gauge? These are the folks that have a High-res gauge that has capabilities between the ScanGauge and CanView. They have indicated a guarded interest into looking into the programming for a hybrid/Prius gauge. Up to now they have aimed their product at the "performance" segment of the auto market... it seems to me that is one horse that may not have "legs" in the forseeable future.
From Monday night, I know both the bladder and the thermos are gone. When speaking with some of the Toyota people I introduced Ken@Japan as a member of the 1,000 mile tank club. I pointed out that without the bladder, we will all be equally able to complete for that club. <grins> Bob Wilson
