Does anyone know what to wear to the chicago event feb 1oth? like is it casual or like would i have to wear a dress?
At the PCD event, we dressed up slightly, but were not asked to wear a tux or a sequenced dress ;-) Jeans and T-shirt may seem underdressed. I chose to wear a shirt/tie and nice slacks and didn't feel under or over dressed for the event. See my current avatar... I can't speak for Chicago though.
thank u so much for replying iwas worried i hate being over dressed or under dressed u think a little black dress would be ok?
I'd say whatever allows you to comfortably get in and out of the cars. Most "guys" won't object to the little black dress.
I have to bow out of the Chicago event. I would love to go to another Prius Event and swoon over the 2010 again - and eat the delicious food - but I can't schedule the drive into the city after work and then the drive back out home afterward. I've had my fun and hope Toyota finds someone else to fill my slot.
People at Detroit wore from suit and tie through to jeans and tie died tee shirt. Any combination between these will be fine.
I just gave a range, that's all. Some people just wore a tee shirt and jeans. I might add, Talonts shirt was a pretty spectacular shirt. What we were told by the Prius Team was come as yourself, no need to dress up, no tux or ball gown required. I hope this is OK to post, here is a group picture. As you may be able to see from the picture, out of the 50 or so invitees to the Detroit event, only 3 of the 45 men wore ties, and none of the 5 women wore a skirt or dress. There's no dress code. I think you are free to come as you are.
I think the lovely Nichole wore a skirt and the very dapper Danny wore a suit, an extremely handsome couple! If you have just finished replacing the insulation in your loft or something it might be nice to shower and change, if only for your own comfort.
Nah, I think the lovely Nichole wore pants. But yes, dapper Danny wore a suit and tie, qbee42 wore a sport jacket and tie, and HTMLSpinnr was the least formal of the tie-wearing men -- he wore a tie but no jacket. You too were rather formally attired in a dress shirt and pinstripe pants. I wore new sneakers that I had bought specifically for the event.
I thought the woman who (rather softly) hit me when I asked where the "armed guards" kept their weapons was wearing a skirt, so much for my powers of observation. You are right, I checked the photos. Nichole was wearing pants and a long knitted jacket. foot note, someone refered to the booth ladies as armed guards.
How's about this tracyann:try on different "numbers",take pics, post pics, and let The Fashion Police,ie:Shirt, tie, slacks but no jacket....tee shirt, jeans, sneakers maybe baseball cap but no tie, wearing PCers decide The little black number sounds fan-dab-a-dozee to me though!! Anyway, have a good time!!
Dooh, I've been caught, time to go buy a jacket. Like I'll never wear it in Phoenix... The Prius Team did recommend your date clothes for meeting the Prius for the first time. I think the cars were adequately impressed w/ my attire. I know some of the ladies were (in person and from photos after the fact) ;-)
Oh, so sad. Rick take pictures anyway please. I wonder if the car will be pulled apart in NY like it was in DET?
Oh, sorry, I'm not going, was just handing out advice. I was tempted to try Chicago, but it was $400 for the round trip air fare and hotel for a night. Wasn't quite worth it to displace a newbie to get their chance.
