At least it'll be warmer. But keep your eyes open for a bat that never closes his. I couldn't think of a better way to keep the thermal imaging system functioning. Good thing I don't work for the military, eh?
The real danger is that radical islam will gain ground that the others have lost. There are already debates going on about Sharia law in Britain, which is really scary because it's such a ridiculous premise in the first place that the topic should have never even come up. Talk about something abused for control... . _H*
Sharia law is an absolute abomination and a travesty of justice. May as well set the clock back a few millennia.
What is Sharia Law mean to you? Most people in the US equate Sharia Law to the laws enforced by the Taliban in Afghanistan. I recently had the chance to listen to an interview with a muslim scholar on the subject. He expressly objected to the western idea that the form of law imposed by groups such as the Taliban was representative of Sharia law. If fact he condemned that form of law as an extremest perversion of Sharia law in a similar manner that terrorist have perverted Islam to try to justify horrendous acts. He also talked about the British accepting a form of "Sharia Law". This quote from Wikipedia about sums it up: "In September 2008, certain newspapers in the United Kingdom sensationally alleged that the government had "quietly sanctioned" the recognition of Sharia courts. However, this is not really a submission to Sharia law but applies to situations where both sides in a legal dispute freely choose a Sharia court as a binding arbitrator rather than taking a matter before the official courts. The decision does not break new ground. The decisions of similar Jewish Beth Din court arbitations have been recognized in England for over 100 years.[80] Neither party can be forced into arbitration by a Sharia or a Jewish court." It is also interesting that English and US common law is based on principals first outlined in Islamic Sharia law. Sharia Laws introduced the crazy concept of trial by jury: "The precursor to the English jury trial was the Lafif trial in classical Maliki jurisprudence, which was developed between the 8th and 11th centuries in North Africa and Islamic Sicily, and shares a number of similarities with the later jury trials in English common law. Like the English jury, the Islamic Lafif was a body of twelve members drawn from the neighbourhood and sworn to tell the truth, who were bound to give a unanimous verdict, about matters "which they had personally seen or heard, binding on the judge, to settle the truth concerning facts in a case, between ordinary people, and obtained as of right by the plaintiff." The only characteristic of the English jury which the Islamic Lafif lacked was the "judicial writ directing the jury to be summoned and directing the bailiff to hear its recognition."
Such as how Dutch politician Geert Wilders was refused entry into England due to his anti-Islam beliefs? I figure what with the messes we have made all over the world (Environmental, political, economic, corporate, etc etc etc), and the way Karma appears to work, payback is a motherf***er Nothing you can do about it, H. No sense getting fired up about it, the docile sheep* in our society will only go baaa about it anyway. Sit back, relax, maybe have a stiff drink. That seems to work for me * in this context, the reader will note my reference to sheep was NOT sexual. Thus, no giggling required
