What? What??!?? No visit to Dixie??? How about Decatur Alabama, the center Northern part of Alabama, which is obviously the geographical center of Dixie? Easy commuting distance from the neighboring states Reachable without having to drive through Mississippi via Nashville Midway between the Nashville and Birmingham for easy access by attendees Excellent access to river bottom flat land and the Piedmont plateau for test drives Local museums have an SR-71, full size shuttles and Saturn rockets for excellent photo opportunities (Space Camp too!) Ready access to the exceptionally clever, above average, engineers at Redstone Aresenal, US Army missile command, and Marshall Space Flight Center, NASA, and historically black, Alabama A&M. Excellent food (Yankees beat us to fried ice cream but we have fried sushi!) Bass season! On the way to Florida where many Prius loving, hugely wealthy, Prius deprived, retired Yankees live From Florida, you could drive up the I-95 corridor and visit that hot bed of Prius innovation, Triangle Park in North Carolina. Heck, you could even drive through the University of Georgia by Atlanta, which contrary to rumor is not enough to get a degree ... you have to stop. Bob Wilson
Do you have any information about Barcelona? Toyota has confirmed it will be there (from 9 to 17 of May), but I wonder if they will show the Prius. I guess yes because it was present in Geneva, but I wanted to confirm. Thanks!
Well, the Prius is at the Atlanta Auto Show this week, but all you can do is admire it while it spins around on a little platform. No touching allowed. When I asked if there was one on the floor to sit in, the Toyota lady was actually rude about it. ("No one but journalist have been able to sit in the car, since it's a pre-production model" "Well I've seen it all over the interwebs" "You just tell me what city that was in because I've been to all of them!")
NY Show will feature multiple 2010 Prius on display. One unit will be unlocked for public viewing. Hope that helps, was there more info you were looking for?
This just in...one 2010 Prius will now be on display at the Austin, TX Auto Show in April. This is a great opportunity for our Texas Prius fans to see the 3rd Generation Prius before it goes on sale.
Sweet, I'll be there just to get up close and personal with the car again... Can I get some more of that great food that we had at the Connect event? J/k, if not drinks will suffice! Seriously though, that's great news especially that one will be open to the public. Mid May cannot come quick enough you guys!
For a US Auto Show, yes. I can't comment on other markets but yes, NY will be the first US show to have an open unit. We would have loved to do more of them (and at more shows) but as you all know, we're still pre-production so vehicles are very limited in number. Enjoy!
Not to be greedy (well sort of ), but is there any chance for a pre-public hours invitation only event, with invited persons being given access to an unlocked car? Could this be arranged through Gulf States Toyota or Austin area dealers? Is your marketing down here affected by the non-Toyota ownership of Gulf States Toyota and could someone contact them to try to get them to sponsor such an event, or other additional roadshow events? :welcome:
For anyone that was wondering, here's the Austin Auto Show info: Austin Convention Center Show Dates: April 17-19, 2009 Hours: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission Adults: $5.00 Seniors (55 and older): $3.00 Children (Under 12): Free
Paradox, no fun food this time, but one fun quick update, there will now be AT LEAST one unlocked unit for the public at NY. ggood, sorry, the Texas-bound unit is unfortunately only a display unit, it can't be opened up at the Austin show. Erica
