Hello all, I unfortunately gave myself a rather large dent in my rear passenger side door on my 2006 Prius not too long ago and I've been hoping to fix it(I don't have the money for a body shop right now anyway). I believe that I can push it out, but I'm somewhat hesitant about opening it up. I was wondering if anybody out there had some tips and/or forewarnings on getting into the door - it looks like there are 3 screws to undo to get into the lock, but I'm not sure where to proceed from there. I noticed there's also a separate and slight crease dent - is this possible to hammer out with ease or should I just leave it alone? I'm more concerned with the larger one but I'd like to tackle both if possible. Thanks in advance, Richard
See section ED of the repair manual for details on the doors. It looks like you're supposed to remove the interior trim; you may find it's not possible to get into the body of the door at the point you need to hammer out the dent.
Check out Dent Doctor or other such services. I had a huge dent in my hood on my '08. The technician drilled a small hole to insert his tools. The hole was in a part of the hood that doesn't show. When he was done, he inserted a small plug in the hole. This dent was 8-10 inches across and now you can't tell it was ever there. Cost = $100. Good luck. Mike
I should be able to pull this one out with a plumber's suction plunger and a little grease I hope. Then a quick spray of putty and a lick of paint will have it back as good as new. Bloody ferral bitch with no job, no insurance and no licence reversed her piece of crap into me in a car park. I won't write here what I really think of her. Fortunately I have very good insurance.
