I read in a recent review of the 10 prius that the package 5 with 17" wheels would be worse gas mileage by 2-3 mpg over standard model because of weight/rolling resistance issues which is why sunroof package not available on it. If this is the case, how can epa put mileage on sticker if two of same model are getting different mileage?
it is same for every vehicle that has different wheels/options available (ie all the vehicles in the world). EPA sticker is for most commonly used model. for gen2 priuses, touring models got worse mileage then other ones... same applies to every other car, if you add weight and bigger wheels, you will spend more fuel.
