So close... yet, so far away! More photos of the 2010 Prius getting ready to hop on a boat to the US and other parts of the world: http://photozou.jp/photo/list/237398/783031
The car in front is not US bound, it has indicators on the mirrors. The silver one might be, it has the side reflectors in the tail light cluster.
Do any of the U.S. Versions have turn indicators on the mirrors???? As I recall, the pre-production units that we drove here in San Francisco did not have that feature. Keith
I guessing that it won't be long before a stream of international parts find their ways onto American vehicles.
None of the US versions have turn indicators in the mirror, but you bet we'll be seeking them out as aftermarket replacements (provided they're still heated)
You think THAT's a bad pic? Here's a whole ROOM full of ugly people! Except for the big handsome guy in the red shirt.
It's just the painted cover, not the whole housing, so it should be very easy to swap out. I'm going to post the turn signal side mirrors for the 2004-2009 soon in the PC Shop. Hopefully the 2010 won't be far behind.
Nice - Linda, Tochatihu, and myself talking there for a bit after Hill (0:34-0:39). This was the first night, and I guarantee some of us had already had "too much" ;-) LOL
I bet nobody knew I was taking the video, especially because I was on the phone. I love Tony's reaction at the end of the video.
Cool. I didn't realize anyone was filming. I'm in the beige TiVo hat (can't see the logo) w/the camera at ~0:32 and ~1:02.
Hey Hill, the only ugly person had his back to the camera for a second, you didn't see his face. Actually it was funny you said a room full of ugly people then the video opened on Linda, one of the hottest people there.
Will Toyota USA offer the parts through their spare parts outlets? Oh it doesn't matter, Danny will have them in his shop. Danny, do you know if the mirror housings you will have in the PC shop for the 04 - 09 will be suited to the right hand drive models? I could be in the market, do not know.
Because the US safety rules don't have a requirement for the turn indicators, so Toyota saves money by not putting them on US versions.
Now I wish I remember what advice I had that Linda was commenting on @ the beginning of the video. Probably something about dinner to soak up the hospitality alcohol.
