i am on the waiting list for the maita toyota here in Sacramento, CA and they just called me today telling me there are no Prius 3 with Solar being shipped to the SanFrancisco Area (at all). I dont even live there, but apparently its the same area as for the north CA.. I am being forced to get a Prius 4 with Solar instead of the 3. Which is a waste of money. Anyone else heard something like this from their dealer?? I am about to cancel my order if its like that.
it was the same way in 04... packages will arrive in certain ways. it will eventually turn into the norm for a year or two before they completely re do the packages. i never expected to see the solar packages on a model III... only IV.. yes.. the page says it.. but.. shrug. i've seen how toyota packages things. buy an insight?... shrug... anything with less mileage, and you'll probably lose that money within a few years to gasoline. not to be mean.. but.. sometimes you guys get too frugal.. and really loose the whole point of buying a fuel efficient machine. did i mention reliable?...
I'd cancel my order. You should absolutely get the car you want and accept nothing else. Now, if you want it NOW or insist you must be at the front of the waiting list, that might be a different story as there may indeed be no 3s with the roof in your color available off the first boat. Your car will be made eventually and you will get it, but I would not accept anything less (or more) than what you paid a deposit for. You may just have to wait a month or 3. And I totally agree about the 4 being way overpriced for what you get above the 3, especially considering you're already paying a pretty steep premium for the nav and roof.
It is a regional thing. We have one coming in (sold already, no phone calls please ). But it is one of 5 in a 500 mile radius.
Try zip codes for Oregon (Portland Region), Nevada (Denver Region), and Los Angeles Region. If those 3 regions aren't importing the car you want then you'll have to look in the Central Time Zone. Good luck.
That's right, no solar roof with Pri III, only IV which brings over $5k price increase (and looks like must get leather). You could really use the solar roof for those Sacramento summers! They might provide solar with Pri III later in the year, like late September, hopefully.
