More bad news, it seems the Kentucky Highway has been anchored all night a few miles out at sea, from Jacksonville Florida. I'm not sure why it disappeared off the map but it's back and just sitting there. I wonder if they are having a bad storm or something? This for certain will delay the cars getting into the port in NJ on May 29th.
Are you sure they are just sitting there or was that just the last update from yesterday at 5PM when it entered the Atlantic? I would not expect any more updates until it gets around New Jersey if this is the case.
At one time there was 5 ships at that anchorage. 3 of them car carriers just out from Jacksonville. I'm thinking Captains Poker Match!
You know we are do for some good news. Maybe we should start a good new thread where nothing but good news is allowed. ( probably would have no posts on it!) FRED
That was this morning about 6am and it's position had moved about a mile or so east. It updated about 8am and it's now presumably underway. I think it's not going to dock in NJ until after the 29th. Plus my Prius has a long ride on a car carrier to get to me. So for me 2nd week of June most likely. I'd like to be the bearer of good news, but I saw no other vessels anchored near it. So for some reason they did not continue yesterday even tho they departed the channel around 9pm.
I didn't see any ships anchored out there. AIS has no coverage there and Vesseltracker only showed the one ship. Funny how they only show up the name you search under. I like AIS because they default to show you all ships in their coverage area. Either way they had a relaxing night.
My dealer says the same thing but today is May 27th and that ship has to go from Florida to NJ in 2 days. It's possible but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a day late. I hope it's not. The dealers know less than many of the members of this forum. Ask your dealer where the ship is right now? Where it spent the night? What time it departed the channel at Jacksonville FL? They don't know. Priuschat members know since there are at least 3 of us keeping tabs on the ship and posting updates.
The sad part is - my car ISN'T ON THIS SHIP! I'm hoping it's on the next one or the one after .... But knowing that Julie and the OR/WA folks are racking up the miles whiles we are breathlessly waiting for our ship to come in is a bit depressing. Even if MY car isn't coming, SOME cars are coming! I can stalk poor Steve up in Concord and look longingly at his car until mine shows up! (Steve - I promise I won't touch, nor will I drool.)
I was told my car wasn't on this also, but I am not giving up hope that he made a mistake or there was some kind of omission. Even if it's on the next ship, I'm hoping it will arrive shortly after. I'm trying to stay POSITIVE. :cheer2:
I think you might have a chance at finding a car once the ship docks. It's possible that some people will back out of their orders when the time comes. I won't but some might and then it's a calling marathon to find the model you want. Lots of dealers in the Boston area, so you might have a chance. I don't know of the names of any other ships headed for the East Coast yet with the Prius on them.
I know I don't have to tell you but as soon as you know of another ship with 2010's on them, a lot of us would be very interested to say the least.
The East Coast ships have a different route. If I hear anything about another ship coming to the East Coast I will be sure to post it.
