Hello Everyone, I'm still in the process of confirming this deal from Elvis Duran of Z-100 Music Station in New York. I filled out the information at his website, and recieved the reply below: "My name is Dave Petrie and I am your Elvis Duran contact at Plaza Toyota. I just received your information from ElvisDuranToyotaDealers.com regarding your interest in a new Toyota Prius and I wanted to let you know that I will be contacting you shortly to discuss your specific needs. I look forward to talking with you and helping you every step of the way with your Prius purchase. Attached herein is your $1,000 Savings Certificate, redeemable only at Plaza Toyota. Print it out, bring it in and SAVE! Thank you for visiting ElvisToyotaDealers. Dave Petrie Internet Manager Tel: 888-573-4029 Email: [email protected] Plaza Toyota 2721 Nostrand Avenue Brooklyn NY 11210 Plaza Toyota | Toyota Dealer Brooklyn, New York The Dealer's Website is: www.plazatoyota.com (Check out the website, it contains a video clip Elvis Duran promoting this deal) This is Elvis Duran's Website (Also contains a video recognizing all participating dealerships) http://www.elvisdurantoyotadealers.com/index.cfm The only problem is that NO ONE at the dealership is aware of this; this includes internet manager, sales rep, the floor manager. So if anyone else in the area had success with this, how did you do it? I already sent Elvis Duran an email though link from his website at Z100 - New York's Hit Music Station regarding this issue. I hope they will get this approved or else its just false advertisement!
I suspect there are some catches. E.g., I can't imagine this offer as being $1000 off MSRP of a Prius II. There's only a $1100 difference between Invoice and MSRP of a Prius II. And I believe that dealers in NY have to pay Invoice to Toyota plus a $430 mandatory "advertising fee" to the Toyota sales region office.
Tom, Its different if they told me they were aware of it and explained why a 2010 Prius would not qualify. But in the Elvis Duran's video, he said said it himself, "...for purchase towards a new vehicle." If they will begin making exceptions, then all new vehicles can be excluded. I might need to blow the whistle louder on this one... I dont know if this helps but I recorded the video on PlazaToyota's website just incase they decide to take it down...
I can almost assure you that they won't honor the deal. That dealership truly is a stealership. Sorry to break the bad news.
But this radio talk show host is pretty much putting his name on the line. I think anyone who wants to preserve their credibility will not promise anything they cant deliver. Could it be that dealership is pocketing Elvis Duran's $1,000 for every New vehicle purchased and giving customers this break? Tsk tsk, hopefully I will receive a response from Z-100 or Elvis Duran within the next few days to fix this problem.
