Hyo: The other thing is, I don't like sleeping on the ground or going to bed without a hot shower. Hot showers, a bed, and a guide are my minimum requirements. Where do any of those places have a picture of me? I want to see it!!! Please post a link or tell me which page it's on, or email me the link if you prefer.
Oh, for Pete's sake, you want a shower, too? You're way too fussy. I used to sleep on just a thin ensolite, but I've found self-inflating mattresses to be quite comfortable, if a little heavy for cycling and backpacking. We often stay in government campgrounds, at least for base camp, and are sure to pick one with showers. After a day of exercise in the outdoors, a shower is quite pleasant, and not just for the person having one. On the Purcell Mountain Lodge main page, there's a link called 'Summer'. Then on the left, there's another link called 'Summer Photo Gallery'. You and Emily are part way down page two. You haven't been getting your royalty cheques?
Wow. Yep, "Daniel & Emily 07" is me with Emily, the lodge manager and head guide. I almost didn't see it because it's on page 2, as you said. Emily is great fun to hike with. One day it started to rain and she pulled an umbrella out of her pack. Quite a sight! (I can't do that because I need two poles, or else I'll fall down several times a day, so I don't have a free hand for an umbrella. But I've discovered that while hiking, it's more comfortable to wear several layers of wool than a rain coat, because a rain coat keeps the sweat in, which is far worse than rain water, whereas wool breathes. Wool does what Goretex is supposed to do but does not. Goretex is waterproof, but it does not breathe.) Too bad she won't divorce her husband and marry me instead.
This would be the female incarnation of McGiver, of course. Some men are enamored of long legs, long hair, or other such physical embellishments. Others are into women who are intelligent or clever. Daniel apparently digs resourcefulness.
Yep. It was funny, but a great idea for someone who had a hand free for it. (I.e. not encumbered by poles as I always am when hiking.) Correct! I don't know who McGiver is, but I like women who are intelligent and strong (both physically and personality-wise). And cheerful. Emily is always cheerful, full of laughter, tells really goofy jokes (the one about the duck asking for grapes in a bar, which I posted in the joke of the day thread, was hers) is a strong hiker, and very pretty. And married.
