I did my own; 4 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic oil 0x20 weight, @ $6.25 / quart. Toyota oil filter, $4.50. Please note, most Toyota dealership don't even have the right oil, 0X20 weight, to do the correct oil change. In fact I checked with mine a couple of day's ago and they still did not have the right oil. Alfon
Haven't done one yet. But the first one is covered at the dealer fo or free (assuming they use the correct oil). I will do rest myself. Peter
Is the 0w20 new for the 2010 Prius exclusively and no other Toyota's they would service use the same oil?
No, the Camry and other new models are also suggesting the use of 0W20. It is just taking time for the service departments to catch up I guess. Peter
If a Toyota dealer does your oil change, Toyota can in no way violate your warranty based on that Toyota dealer not using the specified oil. That problem becomes the dealer's, not yours. And I would bet a lot that this whole issue of oil is totally bogus to begin with and Toyota knows it. This oil spec was written by liability lawyers, not engineers.
