Well with the new Prius safely broken in it's time for another trip to install engine block heaters (and leave a bit of DNA). I'm looking to hit the New England area on Saturday August 15th and head down and through Virginia by the 16th. This would be for any Generation Prius and Camry Hybrids. You must have an engine block heater ready for me to install, I do not supply them. The same heater fits all the above mentioned cars. I supply the ramps, tools and misc. items. These installs are free, I can't fathom the thought of anyone paying a couple of hundred dollars for something that takes 10 minutes. Please PM me if you want an install and I'll arrange a day/time with you. To expedite this I may ask some of you who are close together to get together in one spot. And the 2010 does take about 4 times longer (so far). Wayne
That's an awesome offer. Enjoy your trip to the East Coast and if I ever get my Prius (I heart Cash 4 Clunkers) I'll want an EBH for sure.
10 minutes? Seriously? I had a brief skim of the instructions that came with my EBH (just arrived this week) and I'm pretty sure I saw the words "remove the windshield wiper module - see appropriate technical bulletin if additional detail is required for this procedure." Phrases like that scare me!
Wayne, I have a couple of these to do this fall. One in my Gen3 Prius when it arrives and the other in my friends Hybrid Camry. Are the instructions that come with the heaters adequate for installation by a shade tree mechanic? Is there anything special I need to know? Will the one sold by the PC Shop fit both the Prius and the Camry?
If you want I can take your whole cowl off the front of your car, doesn't take long, just scary looking. Oh, hell no, the instructions are something even a Prius tech can't understand. The Gen III is a bit different and I hope to have a how to done soon, the Camry you have to take the airbox off. And yes, the same EBH fits the Prius and Camry. Wayne
Barring any last minute changes the route is set. MA and NH on Friday, NJ on Saturday, WV on Sunday. Wayne
Im glad i could host the installation of three prii ebhs in my driveway. Thanks Wayne! I hope you escaped without too many mosquito bites.
Was great to meet Wayne on Friday at my place. Thanks for the install Wayne and I hope to see you again soon!
Wayne's stop in NJ was brief, but very effective - two more Priuses (mine and my wife's) are now ready to be preheated when winter comes. Thanks Wayne (and hope you don't hit too much traffic going down to West Virginia)! Walt
