Interesting....will the new interface be compatible with all Priuses? I have a II and if the new one is better I'll hold out for it...
Those of us that have nav did get get a good bluetooth audio streaming option built in, albeit with no control other than pause/play/volume.
Thanks. Since most external devices plug into the single port in the back of the unit (like the existing non-USB option), I think it remains to be seen whether it will somehow be possible to have USB and XM connected simultaneously.
Yeah... that's cool and all, but I need more control than simple pause/play/volume control... plus the fact that I have a pretty large mp3 collection that won't fit on my iPhone. I just can't understand why it wouldn't come with the car upon release, at least as an option... Then to release something that is labeled as "DVD" on the interface? That's pathetic, in my opinion.
If your collection is that large and the interface is anything like the one I had in my xB, you'll come to hate trying to navigate through your collection using the steering wheel controls or stereo buttons. Been there did that, burned that t-shirt.
Ugh... yeah... I can't wait. [/sarcasm] My collection is pretty large. Most of the time I just put it all on random, and use the "next track" button to skip through, but a lot of the time I DO want to navigate through artists and albums to find a particular song. I'm coming from a really nice Kenwood head unit that was a pleasure to deal with. Later this year, whenever a dash kit comes out, I'll most likely be installing another Kenwood.
I had the official iPod/USB kit installed in my III this morning (first one the dealership had done). See this post for full details: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-safety-connect-almost-here-7.html#post921552
