Our car as Avid 333 Yokahama tires, 195 X 65 X 15 factory equipped. I have them inflated to max sidewall pressure, 44 PSI. I understand that there are other tires out there that would get up to 8% better gas mileage, i.e. Michelin Energy Saver Tire. Mileage is now averaging between 48 - 50 MPG,calculated not MFD, due to my wife driving it about 90% of the time. I would like to know those with the higher MPG may be have different factory tires which could attribute to their higher MPG. Also my next tire will probably be either Michelin Hydroedge Green X, or Michelin Energy Saver. If anyone has these tires could you please respond how you like them and MPG's you are receiving. Alfon
I'm doing mostly highway milage ( 100 miles per day x 4 days at an average 62 mph ) on my Yoko 333's inflated to 37 lb and getting a very realistic 56 mpg. I found the computer to over estimate mileage by about 1.5 mpg.
Thanks for the reply, so the Avid 333 is probably a low rolling resistance tire. Looks like the treadware is no very high, maybe 35,000 miles max. 56 MPG is great mileage. alfon
I have found that judging from the performance of my last car, which had Bridgestone run flats, your mileage significantly increases when doing highway driving. My service manager could not believe I pulled 60K + miles out of my run flats when others only managed 30K. It's true.
