Sorry for the rant, but a lot of bad experiences at different dealerships have me in a pissed off mood. Sticking to sales and Toyota, a lot of these guys were on edge a few months ago. They would do almost anything to get people to buy. Yet with some amazing luck, they were able to catch a break with the government bailout and economic recovery. Now with volume up and traffic up, these guys would turn into real jerks and turn customers into little red meat. I don't know about you guys, but I hate it when they treat me without respect even though they make their living off of consumers like me. I would be curious to see what they will do 2 months from now, lets see what they will get from me when they email or call me to buy something.

It's definitely not you, I have corresponded with quite a few dealerships since selling my Ridgeline in June and can honestly say what a bunch of jerks, its pretty sad when only a small percentage carry themselves in a professional manner.:banplease:

I believe most are scum, "jerk" would be an improvement. I believe every major manufacturer has their fair share. One can probably count the "good" dealers/salespeople on the fingers of one hand.

Agreed! Even the "good" ones can get shady. I love it when they try and slip crap in the paperwork

On the other hand, I've had some really good experiences with some dealers. It's always refreshing to work with a good one.

    Perspective

It's easy to be gracious, respectful, kind and nice to someone who's the same back. I'm even pretty even-tempered when folks are NOT so nice. Once they get crappy, it can seem condescending (to them?) to TRY and keep being nice and communicate clearly.

If you're sitting with an idiot trying to buy a car, that's one thing. Walk away. Find a different sales person. Your hero or heroine is out there somewhere.

    :)

I have met some awful car sales reps, but I have never bought from one of them. I will only enter an agreement with someone who treats me reasonably, and I have always been able to find them. I also know that if I'm going to try to jerk a car sales rep around or otherwise treat them badly, I won't get the best deal so it's a waste of time to go there. It would help if everyone just walked away from the "jerks" for starters, there's another dealer that will have your car...
