After having Prius for about a month, I just noticed that there is no temperature gauge on the digital display. What happened to it? No need for it?
Evidently Toyota's research showed that some people only looked at it once a month. Crazy I know but there it is.
Are you talking about a outside temp display? It has one. Are you talking about the temp set display? It has one. Are you talking about a inside the cabin temp display? There isn't one.
Hey, at least I look for it once a month. I searched this topic (temperature gauge) and found no one mentioned yet. I guess no one cares.
I am looking for engine temperature gauge. Although it's a hybird, it still has a 1.8L engine that runs sometime. What about battery temperature, is it important too?
No engine temperature gauge. If you really want one, you will need Scangauge or something of that nature. Tom
Hi hschen, There is not an engine temp gauge. Which is really a shame, because getting good fuel economy out of the car is really dependant on knowing what stage the car is in, which is primarily dependant on coolant temperature. We asked for one, but Toyota ignored that request, and the request for a Tachometer too. A battery / inverter / motors / cat converter temp gauges are of less importance in driving the car. Although, people who are in mountainous areas would do well to have a battery temp gauge.
Thank you all. Hopefully Toyota's decision is correct. We shall never need to worry about overheating, forever.
It took a month for you to miss it, so why worry about it? You can buy a scangauge if you really must have a temp gauge and you will even get the tacho before you notice there isn't one of those next month.
Yeah, now you mentioned, there isn't a tachometer. I have been so busy focusing on the instant mpg meter and forgot about all these gauges we used to have on other cars. Thank you for reminding me.
