Someone did a cost analysis of their 2005 Prius after 100,000 miles. It was posted on Flickr at [flickr link doesn't want to post correctly]. "http://www.flickr.com/photos/prescott_small/3948540932/"
Firefox with the ImageZoom plugin allows you to read the graphic. The OP's inplied negative is off base. The grapic indicates that the owner had saved $5500 in gas (compared to a reasonable car - 23MPG) and had low maintenance cost ($350 for leaking strut, plus oil changes). I have driven my 2004 158,000 miles and saved almost $9000 in gas. My maintenance costs were a little higher as I take good car of my Prius (ATF changes every 60k, Coolant at 100k, coolant and pumps at 150k) but this is still lower than my previous cars. JeffD
1. The flickr guy doesn't have a bigger version (e.g. I have no choise but to post this size) 2. The implied negative was a byproduct of me not having javascript on (I didn't explicitly pick the thumbs down and now I can't change it). This was meant to be an FYI thread.
